Regular hatha yoga practice provides numerous physical and psychological benefits that can be experienced and enjoyed by everyone. Included in these benefits are increased strength and flexibility, improved concentration, increased lung capacity, an improved relaxation response, improved circulation and enhanced mental clarity. To better bring these benefits to all beings, I offer the following services in addition to my ongoing classes.
Individualized Yoga Instruction
Traditionally, yoga was taught individually or in small groups so that the teacher can better design a practice that catered to each student’s individual needs. To continue to carry on this tradition, I am available for individual yoga instruction. Students who might best benefit from individualized yoga instruction include those wishing to start or deepen a home yoga practice, those with physical limitations or wishing consultation on a particular practice issue, or those who do not feel comfortable in a group class.
While similar to individualized yoga instruction, yoga therapy is generally directed at helping an individual achieve a specific goal. For more information about my approach to yoga therapy, please see my “about yoga therapy” page.
With over fifteen years experience as a psychotherapist, I offer individual counseling for a variety of concerns including, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders and substance abuse. My approach to therapy integrates yogic and Buddhist insights with person-centered and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I believe in working with the whole person; not specific symptoms or a diagnosis. Workshops and Customized Group Classes
I am also available to develop specialized classes or workshops for small groups, offices or even parties. Some examples of these include: Yoga for Asthma, Stress Reduction 101, Developing a Personal Yoga Practice, Yoga for Men, and Yoga for Emotional Balance.
